List of House Reps who are holding the Debt Ceiling hostage - and their contact details.

Let's scratch the surface of this gutless piece of legislation, "Cut, Cap and Balance" (and it's not the only legislation that's been considered).
As policy, Cut, Cap and Balance is an effort to take the lessons of the past 10 years and then pass a constitutional amendment preventing us from learning them. For instance: if you're worried about deficits today, you're partly worried about them because we passed about $2 trillion in unpaid-for tax cuts over the past decade or so, and then we had a financial crisis that jammed revenues further. CC&B's answer? Editing the Constitution so it includes a brand-new, two-thirds super majority in both houses of congress to raise taxes. It takes our problem and makes it worse. More specifically, it takes the United States Constitution and rewrites it to ape California's budget process.
Yet we want to write into the Constitution a requirement that spending remain at 18 percent of the previous year's GDP? That is to say, a requirement that the federal government needs to make recessions worse rather than drawing on its unique capacity to make them better? Are we mad?
And Republicans, frankly, know much of this. Ronald Reagan's entire presidency would've been unconstitutional under CC&B. Same for George W. Bush's. Paul Ryan's budget wouldn't pass muster."

What is sane about Cut, Cap, & Balance? Cutting Social Security and medical aid to real live human beings so that Republicans can continue to give more money to corporations?
Talk about insane....

Here's a list of the representatives in Congress who are refusing to raise the debt ceiling, and holding the economy (and our future) hostage on behalf of the wealthy and their corporations.

The White House servers are at this time down - so Call. If the D.C. Phone lines are jammed or down, google the representative's district office phone numbers and call that.
Some of these people have Twitter - find them.
If you have a fax machine - use it.

Below I've chased down some of the contact information from Ohio and Florida representatives - as swing-state representatives facing difficult elections, it may be easier to scare them into changing direction.
If you only have the time to call a couple of people, don't start at the top of the list - mix it up. We need to show power through numbers.
They are predicted to start making major votes on this issue tomorrow. Call today.
