"The Christmas Card" originally appeared in 1968 on Do Not Adjust Your Set. Part of a three-segment short titled "Storytime," it was one of Gilliam's first animations to be shot on 35mm, and he made it "by raiding the Tate Gallery's huge collection of Victorian Christmas cards."
