What is a greater threat to our Republic; Requiring Voter ID or Voter Fraud?

Would requiring someone to display a state issued ID disenfranchise more voters then people's votes being negated due to voter fraud?

Who's pushing these voter ID laws? ALEC
What does the founder of ALEC, Paul Weyrich, have to say about voting?
"I don't want everybody to vote. Elections are not won by a majority of the people. They never have been from the beginning of our country and they are not now. As a matter of fact, our leverage in the elections quite candidly goes up as the voting populace goes down."
And that's what it's all about it. Just as trickle down is the myth used to justify funnelling money to the very wealthy, voter fraud is the myth used to justify disenfranchising likely Democratic voters.

Voter fraud does happen though.
Guess who dead people are voting for: Republicans. So here's their idea in a nutshell: abuse voting system, use that abuse as evidence of needed reform, push voterID, ???, Profit.
Obviously the correct solution is to remove dead people from registered voters.
